The Brewers are finally ending their extended offensive slump and leading the charge is reigning NL Rookie-of-the-year Ryan Braun who has raised his BA over 40 points and added 4 HR's and 6 RBI in the past week. Taking three of four from STL was huge and a win over the Dodgers yesterday was critical to keeping the momentum.
Gagne is back as the closer after a "break" that lasted barely 48 hours. He is still not as sharp as we need him to be but he's back in the ninth for better or worse right now.
We are still in 4th place in the NL Central but only 3 games back of Chicago despite our being under .500 for a spurt there. We finish a tough series with LA at home here and then must face the Red Sox at Fenway for Interleague baseball, not a fun place to try to get a win! That begins a 9-game road trip that could very well give us an idea of how good we really are.
The Starting Pitching really needs to pick up the team because the offense is coming around and we don't have Gallardo to give use a quality start more often then not. Suppan is solid and our youngsters in Villanueva and Parra must get themselves in a groove here for use to make a playoff push.
LET THE OFFENSE ROLL BREW CREW!!!!!!
